Principal
Dr. Kristin Hartloff has dedicated more than 25 years to public education and is proud to serve the Tustin Unified School District community. She currently serves as the principal of Utt Middle School, where she is committed to fostering a culture of academic excellence, meaningful relationships, and opportunities for every student to thrive.
Before becoming principal, Dr. Hartloff served as Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction at Foothill High School. She also worked in Tustin Unified as a Teacher on Special Assignment and Coordinator of Curriculum at the district office, supporting instructional programs and professional learning across the district. Before joining TUSD, she was a classroom teacher and instructional coach in Garden Grove Unified School District. Throughout her career, Dr. Hartloff has served students and educators at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, giving her a broad perspective on student learning and development.
Dr. Hartloff earned a bachelor's degree in dance/theatre from Chapman University, a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from California State University, Fullerton, and a Doctorate in Education (K–12 Leadership) from California State University, Fullerton.
Outside of school, Dr. Hartloff enjoys spending time with her three daughters, practicing yoga, reading, and traveling. She believes that strong partnerships between schools and families are essential to student success and is honored to be part of the Utt Middle School community.
